The World Heritage List is a list of sites and destinations of extra importance, chosen by the UNESCO World Heritage Convention. To be included on the World Heritage List, sites must be of outstanding universal value.

Les Invalides is an old building complex, dedicated to injured soliders. The northern entrance displays the great gate dedicated to “the Sun King”.
